Community Arts Organizing

2026 Kendall Whittier Fibers Showcase, Mixed-Use Space Tulsa (MUST)

I curated a group fibers show at MUST as part of the Kendall Whittier Third Thursday programming for July. Artists working out of MUST, our friends Mary and Emily from Community Craft, and neighborhood artist Rachel Rector all contributed fiber-based work which resulted in an amazing breadth of skill and creativity. The show features traditional art like quilts and weavings, as well as beautifully crafted utilitarian objects like purses and creative supply carrying cases. At MUST, we like to have an age-accessible activity or workshop to accompany the art show, so I built an a-frame loom and invited visitors to contribute to a community weaving that will remain ongoing for the duration of the show.

2025 Skill Share #1: Sewing at Mixed-Use Space Tulsa (MUST)

Skill Shares are free community events where novices and experts alike can share in learning together around a central theme. Myself and two collaborators drew on community resources to gather sewing machines, thread, hand sewing supplies, and learning tools such as tablets for participants to utilize. I made a video playlist for each sewing machine model covering how to thread it and start sewing.

2025 Skill Share #2: Houseplants at Mixed-Use Space Tulsa (MUST)

This skill share included a plant swap, pot swap, and repotting station completely stocked with supplies. Myself and two collaborators helped re-pot plants, gave advice, and connected with other plant enthusiasts. I also designed and printed a free zine with a condensed rundown of care for many different types of houseplants.
