Kenzie Adair (Oklahoma, 1991) completed a BFA in May, 2014 from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA. She has exhibited her work in Savannah, GA, Tulsa, OK, and Lacoste, France. In her recent work, she compares organic forms, patterns, and materials with simulated representations of nature and the body. By layering abstracted figurative forms and natural fibers with digitally-constructed patterns and synthetic fabric, she creates spaces where materials integrate with each other to the point of indiscernibility, as well as spaces where they oppose and restrict each other. The resulting works are medium scale mixed media paintings which question the increasing presence of fabricated imagery, material, and experiences accepted in present popular culture. Currently, she is living and working in Tulsa, OK and preparing for her July exhibition at Liggett Studio in Tulsa, OK.
